About Jarvis Legal Costs
I started Jarvis Legal Costs Consultancy in 2002 after working for several years in London for big costs organisations. I could see that there was a niche for me to fill with my personable manner and legal expertise. I could talk about our mission statement here and blow lots of hot air about a ‘grand plan’, but when I set out on my journey, I simply wanted to give Solicitors an easier time when faced with legal costs issues.
When I started Jarvis Costs over two decades ago I had already learned that being personable, friendly but knowledgeable and dedicated, were traits that led to impressive results. I wanted to utilise my interpersonal and legal skills for the benefit of Solicitors, rather than simply being a cog in the wheel of a bigger (less precise) machine.

Our Journey Begins
As with all things, I started out small with a well-known local firm and was able to forge a relationship with them, which persists to this day. In fact, that very first client is the godfather to one of my children. Often, making people feel at ease is an effective way to do business!
20 Years and Still Going Strong...
More than two decades later, we are still thriving. Over the years we’ve taken on a wide variety of cases from the harrowing to the deeply personal and always come away with a good result for those instructing us. Sure, there have been bumps in the road over this time, but given the circumstances, I must say that I still enjoy the thrust of my work and dealing with legal costs on behalf of Solicitors.
I could go on to extol our virtues further, and I am impressed you made it this far, and profess to be the best or a market-leader, but that’s just fluff, which is easy to come by on other websites. With all the changes that have occurred in the world of legal costs since 2002, I would say that we’ve lasted this long and weathered these storms, minor or major, and still love what we do.
